Research Innovations, Inc.’s (RII’s) Dragonfly™ Enhances Radio Frequency (RF) Spectrum  Visualization

Demand for RF spectrum visualization tools drives next-generation small form factor unit

ALEXANDRIA, Va. [December 13, 2024] — Research Innovations, Inc. (RII), a provider of critical national security technology solutions, today celebrates the traction that Dragonfly, its premier small form factor unit, experienced throughout 2024.

As geopolitical tensions continue to rise, demand for next-generation edge cognitive RF sensing systems to enable the visualization of the Cyber-EM Terrain increased in 2024, especially among customers operating in mission-critical environments. Delivering on the rising need, RII is revolutionizing accelerated spectrum processing with its Dragonfly system, the first-ever ruggedized, ultra-low SWaP, GPU-accelerated RF search and survey system for signal analysis and processing. Earlier this year, RII made the first sale of its one-of-a-kind Dragonfly solution to Espy LLC, an RII technology partner and provider of communications intelligence (COMINT) solutions and teamSENTINEL signal processing software.

With signal classification using Espy’s RFML Quick Assist technology, Dragonfly provides a wide range of functionality in an unprecedented small form factor - with all the power and capabilities for advanced signal processing, analysis, and demodulation. This includes wideband recording and playback, geo-location, signal browser, signal analytics, RFML signal classification, and RFML training.

"The growing interest in RII's Dragonfly system is a testament to the criticality for operators to see the world beyond their immediate surroundings. This underscores the innovative solution our team has developed," said Bill Urrego, Engineering Fellow, RII. "RII's collaboration with Espy is providing a browser-based RF spectrum seamless navigation experience, whether you are working with streaming near real-time RF data or retroactively analyzing a collection of signal data. Dragonfly’s super resolution, powered by an embedded GPU, allows an operator to instantaneously zoom from GHz of RF spectrum over minutes down to sub millisecond and sub kHz resolution."
