How would you describe your role at RII?
As the conduit to USINDOPACOM, I make sure that our user community is taken care of by understanding their needs and developing solutions for them. I hope to grow our team of RII experts in the Pacific to support the warfighter in their growing information and data challenges.
Who or what inspired you to pursue a career in national security?
My father was a ROK (Republic of Korea) Marine who never took for granted the safety and security of a nation that takes care of their people. We immigrated to the US in the early 80's when South Korea was struggling with the challenges of a developing democracy. It was ingrained in me to never take what protections we have here in the US for granted.
What do you love most about working at RII?
The people! Folks here are so diverse in their experiences and are the BEST at what they do. The people are the backbone of any organization and I believe RII does its part to make sure this is where we focus our efforts, which allows us to attract the best and the most talented people.
Being surrounded by inspirational people in work and life creates an environment of innovation and efficiency. Since I live so far away, one of my favorite memories is attending my first company party in January 2020 and being able to meet so many wonderful teammates in person.
