Rich Briggs
Rich Briggs is the Founder, Chairman, and Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of Research Innovations Inc. (RII) and has over 25 years of experience growing and operating technology-related businesses within the defense industry and developing technologies in the mission command, information operations, joint targeting, and distributed simulation areas.
In 2009, Rich founded RII and has since fostered the growth and strategic evolution of the company, developing groundbreaking capabilities and applying emerging technologies to address high-priority capability gaps in military capabilities. RII began with three employees working in a small office in Virginia and today, the company has grown to over 400 employees working in offices in Alexandria, VA, Melbourne, FL, St. Petersburg, FL, and San Antonio, TX, as well as remotely across the country, abroad, and embedded with customers in U.S. Department of Defense Combatant Commands around the world. In his role as CTO, Rich leads the agile development of Command and Control technologies, big data analytics, AI and machine learning, and cyber technology solutions.

Prior to RII, Rich co-founded Virtual Technology Corporation (VTC) in 1994 and helped grow the business to over 130 employees, positioning the company as a leading developer of joint, net-enabled Command and Control and Modeling and Simulation solutions. As a result of the company’s success, VTC was acquired by Raytheon in 2006.

Rich is an innovator, entrepreneur, and business leader focused on the development and application of leading-edge technologies to support urgent national security requirements. Rich graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and a minor in business administration and economics. Rich is also a graduate of the distinguished Birthing of Giants entrepreneurial program.
